Portage Substance Abuse & Mental Health Conference Registration Open


Dr. Ted Parran will discuss prescribing controlled drugs after the opioid epidemic. Dr. Daniel Brown from Pinnacle Treatment Centers will present on methamphetamines. Harm Reduction will be the topic for longtime advocate for recovery and peer supporter China Darrington. Stacy Simera from Kent Psychological Associates will discuss how sleep is the low-hanging fruit in supporting mental health and sobriety. Dr. Heather Chapman from VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System will present on youth and gaming and addiction.



Continuing education credits are available for social workers, counselors, and clock hours for treatment and prevention professionals. Townhall II are providing the continuing education units.


The event is being sponsored by the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County, Children’s Advantage, Coleman Health Services, Hope on Wheels, Hope Village, Townhall II, Family & Community Services and AxessPointe, State Farm Agent Lauren Talion, Portage County Health Department, and Windsor Laurelwood.
