Medication Disposal System Bags Given to Seniors

The importance of proper prescription drug disposal was the topic at the January Skeels Senior Club monthly meeting and luncheon at the Vernon L. Matthews Community Center in Ravenna. A presentation regarding the opioid problem in Portage County and the Safe Medicine Disposal System were part of this discussion.

Joel Mowery, Executive Director of the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County and Alyce Jennings, Director of Development for Summit County Community Partnership Services, led the discussion and demonstrated how to use free medication disposal system bags. These bags (http://deterrasystem.com/) are available at the Acme Grocery Store in Kent. The bags are free to the public.
